11yo among four suspects arrested on suspicion of involvement in vehicle theft in Kapit Town

KUCHING, Nov 9: Four suspects, including a 11-year-old boy, were apprehended on suspicion of involvement in a vehicle theft case in Kapit Town.

Kapit district police chief DSP Rohana Nanu said the four suspects are local citizens between the ages of 11 and 21.

Rohana said the arrests were made following a police report received last Sunday (Nov 5).

“Police also confiscated items believed to be stolen goods worth around RM8,500,” she said in a statement yesterday (Nov 8).

All suspects were detained for further investigation under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.

If convicted, offenders can be jailed for up to seven years and fined. — DayakDaily
