KUCHING, Feb 6: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has listed 11 items under the Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme (SHMMP), which will be in effect from Feb 6 to 14, in conjunction with Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration.
KPDN Sarawak chief enforcement officer Peter J Berinus Agang said the items are white prawns, white pomfret, live pigs, pig intestines, pork (meat and fat), imported cabbage from Indonesia and China excluding Beijing, imported potatoes from China, garlic, imported ginger, imported white radish, and carrot.
He also said the 2024 CNY Maximum Price Scheme will be implemented through the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act (AKHAP) 2011.

“KPDN Sarawak enforcement officers have inspected 6,878 premises since January 1 until Feb 5 this year, which resulted in 96 cases involving confiscation amounting to RM4,463,300,” he said during a walkabout at H&L Kuching Sentral here today. — DayakDaily
