11 crime cases solved with arrests of 3 suspects in Miri

MIRI, June 15: Police have solved 11 cases involving armed robbery, vehicle theft, house break-in and causing mischief with the arrests of two brothers and a man in the wee hours yesterday.

The suspects are aged 25, 31 and 37, and all of them are locals.

They were rounded up at 3.20am, 4am and at 5.10am at Tudan Phase 3, Quadruplex Flat in Permyjaya and at Jalan Marigold Golden Royal Villa in Senadin.

City police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, when contacted, said two of the suspects were siblings and that the trio was arrested by a team from Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

A motorcycle and a car believed to have been used to commit the alleged crimes were seized from the suspects.

“Police also discovered and seized a machete and four helmets from the first suspect, whom we detained in Tudan Phase 3,” said Lim.

Lim explained that the 11 cases that have been considered solved included four gang-robbery cases: (a) at a 24-hour convenience shop in Luak, (b) KK Mart in Krokop 3 and 10, and (c) a 24-hour shop in Paragon, Lutong.
