KUCHING, March 16: A total of 100 orphans were treated to a large mouth-watering feast at a breaking of fast ceremony organised by Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) held at Hikmah Exchange Event Centre (HEEC) here earlier tonight.
They comprised of students from Sekolah Kebangsaan Rakyat (SK) in Jalan Bolhasan, SK Merpati Jepang in Satok, SK Meranek in Samarahan, SK Kampung Melayu in Samarahan, SK Rakyat Tupong in Petra Jaya, Maahad Darul Al-Falah in Gita, Pusat Pengajian Tafaqquh and Tahfiz Al-Makki of Kampung Semariang Pinggir, and Mahad Tahfiz Raudhatul Jannah in Matang.
Deputy Premier of Sarawak and Second Minister of Natural Resources and Urban Development Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and wife Dato Dayang Morliah Awang Daud, who attended the event, also presented Hari Raya aid to them.
Prior to that, Awang Tengah, who is also the STIDC Management Board chairman, joined other guests to perform Maghrib, Isyak, and Taraweeh prayers together.
Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, STIDC advisor Datu Hashim Bojet and general manager Zainal Abidin Abdullah were also present. — DayakDaily
