KUCHING, Feb 11: More than 100 motorcycles of various brands were totally destroyed in a blaze at a workshop at Jalan Ellis here, early this morning.
The workshop, together with two double-storey houses were 70 per cent burnt in the fire.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre said they received a distress call on the incident at 2.26am.
A total of 19 firefighters led by TPgB Tan Min Chai from Padungan and Batu Lintang fire stations were dispatched to the scene.
It took them almost an hour to control the fire from spreading, though fortunately no injuries were reported in the incident.
Fire investigation officers including its canine (K9) unit were also dispatched to the scene in the afternoon to carry out investigations into the cause of the fire and to estimate the losses incurred. — DayakDaily
