KUCHING, July 12: Ten individuals were slapped with compounds for throwing a ‘birthday party’ yesterday (July 11) which constitutes a violation of the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the Movement Control Order (MCO 3.0).
Padawan District Police Chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the raid took place at a house in Stapok New Settlement Scheme, Jalan Stapok Utama here, around 6.30pm.
“A police team consisted of personnel from Padawan Crime Investigation Department (CID) and Kota Sentosa Crime Prevention Branch (CPJ) had inspected the house and found ten individuals gathering and eating together with no practice of social distancing at the basement parking.
“The homeowner has admitted to have held his relative’s birthday celebration during the inspection,” he said in a statement.
All 10 men, aged between 24 and 53, were each issued a RM1,500 compound under Regulation 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (National Recovery Plan) 2021. — DayakDaily
