Covid-19 situation worsens in Lundu, Dalat while Sebauh improves

KUCHING, July 12: The Covid-19 situation in Lundu and Dalat worsened in contrast to that of Sebauh, which has improved.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily Covid-19 update report Lundu registered 59 Covid-19 cases in the past 14 days, turning the district into a red zone with more than 41 cases in a fortnight.


While Lundu turned red, the Covid-19 situation in Dalat also deteriorated with 22 coronavirus cases reported in the past two weeks, moving the district from a yellow zone to an orange zone of Covid-19.

In spite of that, the coronavirus situation in Sebauh is getting better as it moves into a yellow zone of Covid-19 with 18 cases of local infection reported in the past 14 days.

At present, there are 21 districts which are classified as red zones of Covid-19.(A red zone of Covid-19 is a district which reported more than 41 coronavirus cases in the past 14 days).

They are Lundu, Saratok, Tebedu, Telang Usan, Song, Bau, Meradong, Tatau, Sri Aman, Kanowit, Selangau, Subis, Mukah, Sarikei, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu which reported a cumulative of 4,251 cases in the past two weeks.

Five districts namely Dalat, Betong, Lubok Antu, Bukit Mabong and Asajaya are in the orange zone of Covid-19 with a cumulative 117 cases in the past fortnight.

Moving on, 13 districts namely Sebauh, Pakan, Matu, Kabong, Simunjan, Tanjung Manis, Julau, Marudi, Beluru, Limbang, Pusa, Belaga and Lawas are in the yellow zone with a total of 123 Covid-19 cases reported in the past two weeks.

Daro remained the sole district in Sarawak classified as a green zone of coronavirus with zero cases reported in the past 14 days. — DayakDaily
