KUCHING, March 8: One person was killed while three others suffered injuries following a two-vehicle road accident near Pakan junction in Sarikei.
According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the accident at 11.05pm last night (March 7) and deployed Bomba Sarikei to the location.
The operations commander arriving at the location reported that the incident involved a sport-utility vehicle (SUV) and a lorry.
Two victims from the SUV were helped out by members of the public and were given initial medical treatment at the location while firefighters extracted two other victims who were still inside the vehicle.
“One of them was confirmed dead at the location, and the body was later handed over to the police for further action,” it said.
It was also reported the lorry driver was not present at the location after the accident. — DayakDaily
