KUCHING, Aug 31: Sarawak recorded zero new Covid-19 cases today, as the Alam cluster in Bintulu remains active with eight cases.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today disclosed the total number of Covid-19 cases in the state remains at 699, while the number of recovered and discharged cases is also unchanged at 663, or 94.85 per cent of total cases.
“The death toll remains at 19 cases or 2.72 per cent (of total cases), and as of today, a total of 12 new cases of Person-Under-Investigation (PUI) was reported, and two of the cases are still waiting for laboratory test results.
“At the same time, a total of 17 individuals are currently receiving treatment in hospital isolation wards, namely in Bintulu Hospital (11 cases), Sarawak General Hospital (5) and Miri Hospital (1),” it said.
Meanwhile, SDMC also revealed that a total of 62 compound notices was issued by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for non-compliance with standard operating procedure (SOP).
“The compound notices were issued in Kuching (59), Kota Samarahan (1), Betong (1) and Sarikei (1),” the statement added. — DayakDaily
