KUCHING, Aug 1: A lorry driver was sentenced to ten years in jail and five strokes of the rotan for raping his underage stepsister.
The accused, 22, from Kampung Siga pleaded guilty to the charge framed.
Sessions Court Judge Marutin Pagan accepted his guilty plea and ordered that the imprisonment term to run from the date of arrest.
The accused was charged with committing incest and rape on his 13-year-old stepsister, in May 2019, at their house located in Kampung Siga.
He was charged under Section 376B (1) of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term of not less than ten years and not exceeding thirty years, and whipping, upon conviction.
According to the facts of the case, the victim reported that she was raped by her stepbrother in May 2019.
The victim and the accused were alone in the said house and the rest of their family members were not around. The accused then asked the victim to scratch his back in the living room of their house before the accused removed her clothing and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The accused was arrested on July 25.
