Youth arrested for injuring father with knife in Sarikei


SARIKEI, Aug 29: A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly injuring his father with a knife following a quarrel at their home in Selalang last night.

Sarikei District police chief Supt Awang Arfian Awang Bujang said in the 10.20pm incident, the suspect and his father, 53, had a heated exchange over certain matters.

“The quarrel led the suspect to take out a knife and throw it at his father,” he said.


Following a report received at 1.10am today, the police went to the house to arrest the jobless suspect.

Awang Arfian added that the suspect has been remanded four days to assist investigations under Section 324 of the Penal Code. — DayakDaily
