Young man aged 31 dies from Covid-19 in Miri despite having no comorbidities

KUCHING, April 23: A 31-year-old man with no comorbidities has passed away in Miri due to Covid-19.

The man from Miri, who is the 147th fatality caused by the pandemic in Sarawak, was admitted to Miri Hospital on April 7 after his rt-PCR screening tested positive for the virus.


He began to experience symptoms of respiratory tract infection a week earlier and his condition deteriorated. He was pronounced dead two weeks later on April 21, 2021.

Earlier on March 19 this year, Sarawak recorded two fatalities where the Covid-19 patients did not have any records of comorbidity.

Both Case 95 and Case 96 did not record any underlying health conditions or illnesses such as hypertension, diabetes, heart diseases, chronic liver diseases, gout and dyslipidemia.

Case 95 was a woman from Sibu, while Case 96 was a 55-year-old man, also from Sibu.

Meanwhile, in Sibu, a 64-year-old woman with dyslipidemia died on April 22 due to Covid-19.

The woman, who is Case 148, was admitted to Sibu Hospital after experiencing a fever, lethargy and poor appetite. A rt-PCR test was carried out and she was tested positive for Covid-19 on April 4.

She displayed symptoms of respiratory tract infection a week earlier and like case 147, her condition continued to be worsened before she passed away two weeks later.— DayakDaily
