New Covid-19 cases in Kabong results in orange zone classification, other districts unchanged


KUCHING, April 23: Kabong is now an orange zone after three new Covid-19 cases pushed it out of its yellow zone status as other districts’ statuses remain unchanged today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today said Kabong district recorded an addition of three new positive cases as of today, bringing the total number of cases recorded in the district in the past 14 days to 23 cases.

According to SDMC, the addition of Kabong district as an orange zone brings the total number of districts with the status to six districts.


The statement noted that currently, as of today, only 10 districts remain in the yellow zone status, while 21 districts remain in the red zone status, and three other districts were green zones.

As of today, the 21 districts classified as red zones are namely Song, Tatau, Bukit Mabong, Belaga, Kanowit, Selangau Saratok, Subis, Matu, Mukah, Sarikei, Beluru, Samarahan, Serian, Julau, Meradong, Kuching, Kapit, Bintulu, Miri and Sibu.

Six districts namely Betong, Kabong, Sri Aman, Sebauh, Pakan and Marudi are currently orange zones, while Lundu, Asajaya, Pusa, Bau, Dalat, Daro, Lubok Antu, Tanjung Manis, Tebedu, and Limbang are yellow zones.

Three other districts that remain as green zones are Lawas, Telang Usan and Simunjan. — DayakDaily
