KUCHING, April 24: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Kuching chairwoman Datuk Lily Yong is confident that the party’s disciplinary action committee will be fair and just.

Yong stated this in reference to the party’s investigation into her decision to dissolve the Padungan branch’s State election machinery just days before polling day for the 12th Sarawak Election on Dec 18, 2021. The seat was won by Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen.

“They will know how to handle it after we have already put up all the evidence.

“They are all very qualified people in the committee and we trust they will do fair and just work,” she said during a press conference after the branch’s triennial general meeting at a local hotel today.

Yong was replying to a question from reporters regarding the outcome of the investigation.

She also said that it is not fair for her to comment on the matter before any decision is made known.

“But definitely Kuching branch will continue to uphold the good name, image and justice in the party,” she added.

On Jan 16, SUPP president Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the outcome of Yong’s case has not been determined as the party’s disciplinary action committee is still investigating the case. — DayakDaily
