KUCHING, July 30: Democratic Action Party (DAP) Padungan assemblyman Wong King Wei has rejected DAP Sarawak chairman’s Chong Chieng Jen’s request to reconsider his decision to quit the party.

“I apologise to YB Chong for his good gesture by making that offer, but I have to respectfully decline the offer,” said Wong when he went to the ground to India Street and Carpenter Street, Kuching today to thank his supporters.

This comes after the Padungan representative had made made the shocking announcement of his resignation on July 26, 2020.

Despite being shocked and disappointed over Wong’s decision to call it a day, Chong believed that whatever misunderstanding or disagreement should not outweigh the party’s general direction of fighting corruption and restoring of a clean government.

In response to this, Wong said that he had made up his mind on the matter and shall thereafter pursue after his coming plans for himself.

“I have made up my mind and decision. I just want to move forward with my new direction and move on with the future that I have decided for myself,” said Wong. —DayakDaily
