MIRI, July 12: A 31-year-old woman here lodged a police report on Monday against her boyfriend on suspicion of abusing her three-year-old daughter.
The woman went to the police after noticing bruises on her child’s body.
It was believed the suspect abused the child at his house in Pujut 4 on the night of July 5 while the complainant was cooking in the kitchen.
The woman claimed that she heard her daughter crying and the suspect scolding her while bathing her in the bathroom.
However, she did not suspect something was amiss until she returned to her own house in Taman Tunku. To her horror, she noticed bruises on her daughter’s ears and cheeks.
The case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(A) of the Child Act 2001.
The suspect was remanded for three days to facilitate investigation. — DayakDaily
