Woman found dead after fall from 14th floor

MIRI, Jan 22: A woman, believed to be in her 20’s, was found dead after she fell from the 14th floor of a building early Tuesday morning (Jan 22) in Tanjong Lobang.

Police rushed to the scene after responding to an alert at 3.05am and found the woman’s body lying on the sidewalk next to the building.

The city police chief, ACP Lim Meng Seah when contacted, disclosed the body was discovered outside the building where she lived.

“She was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Miri Hospital due to injuries she sustained,” he said.

There were no signs of foul play, he added.

Lim said, police responded to the scene after receiving reports from passers-by that a person was lying on the sidewalk next to the building.

“The case is classified as sudden death,” said Lim.

The deceased is believed to be a China National. — DayakDaily
