Wisma Putra advises Malaysians to defer non essential travel to seven West Asian countries

KUCHING, Mar 4: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised Malaysians to postpone all non essential travel to Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) until further notice amid ongoing uncertainties in the West Asia region.

According to a TVS news report, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also known as Wisma Putra said the advisory remains in force as it continues to monitor security and travel developments closely while maintaining coordination with Malaysia’s diplomatic missions in the affected countries.

“Authorities in the UAE have announced the reopening of designated safe air corridors following earlier disruptions.

“Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has also temporarily resumed flights from Jeddah and Madinah from today until Sunday,” it said.

Wisma Putra added its diplomatic missions will remain in close contact with relevant authorities and operational partners to assist Malaysians affected by ongoing travel disruptions. — DayakDaily
