LIMBANG, May 8: The police are working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Malaysian Embassy in London to locate and track down a Sarawakian student from a private college, who has been out of contact with her family since last Saturday.

In a TVS news report, Limbang District Police chief Superintendent Parum Niot confirmed that the student, Cathilyenn Santa Liong Siu Zhen, 24, was last seen in London after boarding a flight from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), as evidenced by CCTV footage from Saturday night.

“The police are coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Malaysian Embassy in London to gather information to locate Cathilyenn,” he told the media today.

However, Parum clarified that the whereabouts of another friend, Muhamad Izzat Asnawai, 21, have not been confirmed, as only Cathilyenn was recorded on CCTV at KLIA.

The case is being treated as a missing person (left home) without the family’s knowledge.

Cathilyenn’s and Izzat’s families had previously expressed concerns for their safety, as they are believed to have flown abroad since last Saturday.

They have appealed for help from various parties to ensure their children’s safety and requested their safe return.

The disappearance of Izzat and his female companion gained widespread attention on social media after their families sought assistance in locating them.

The two were last seen at the Horizon Suites area in Selangor last Saturday and have been unreachable since 10pm that same day. Two police reports have been filed regarding their disappearance. — DayakDaily
