KUCHING, June 9: A distraught woman is seeking help to locate her husband’s whereabouts, as she lost contact with him after he left Sarawak for Shenzhen, China, to pursue better employment opportunities several years ago.

According to a press release, Michael Kong Feng Nian, the special assistant to Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) chairman Chong Chieng Jen, stated that he was approached by the woman, known as Madam Kho, who is raising her children alone.

Kong said that according to information gathered from Kho, the last time she heard from her husband, Tang Thiew Hing, was when he informed the family of his arrival in Shenzhen.

Tang was born in 1972 and hails from Kuching.

“Since then, despite numerous efforts, the family has been unable to reach or locate him. Understandably, Madam Kho is deeply concerned for his safety and well-being. With no closure and growing responsibilities as the sole caregiver to their children, she is now seeking any help that may lead to tracing her husband’s whereabouts.

“This is not just about finding answers—it is about giving a family hope and potentially reuniting them after years of uncertainty and silence,” he said.

Therefore, he urged anyone who may have information about Tang’s whereabouts to come forward.

“No detail is too small. Your help could mean the world to this struggling family.

“If you have lost contact with a loved one overseas or know someone who has, we encourage you to file a police report and reach out to your nearest consulate or community service centre for support.

“Time is critical in such cases, and early reporting can make a significant difference,” he said.
