KUCHING, March 17: Several major areas in Kuching, including the international airport, government quarters, and residential zones, will face low water pressure or a total water supply interruption on Tuesday, March 18, due to essential repair works on the main water pipeline.
The Kuching Water Board (KWB) announced that the disruption is scheduled to begin at 10am and is expected to last until approximately 5pm the same day.
The disruption is due to repair works on the main connection of a 400mm ductile iron (DI) pipe at a tee installation site along Jalan Lapangan Terbang.
Areas affected include Hornbill Skyways, Kuarters Pejabat Penerbangan Awam, The Ryegates, Bangunan Lee Onn, Kuching International Airport, Lorong Lapangan Terbang 8, and the surrounding neighbourhoods.
KWB has mobilised water tankers to assist during the interruption. Meanwhile, road users in the vicinity are advised to drive cautiously and adhere to traffic safety regulations as repair works will be underway.
The water board expressed regret for any inconvenience caused and urged the public to reach out for further information via their call centre at 082-222333 or WhatsApp at 019-8866650.
