Water supply disruption in Padungan due to pipe leak, fix expected until 3pm

KUCHING, Dec 28: Residents and businesses along Jalan Song Thian Cheok and surrounding Padungan area are facing water supply disruption due to repair operation on a 300mm DI main leak.

A notice issued today indicated that the affected areas include parts of Jalan Padungan, Jalan Ban Hock, Jalan Song Thian Cheok, Jalan Abell, Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Chan Chin Ann, Jalan Nipah, Jalan Petanak, and surrounding neighbourhoods.

The repair works, which commenced at 10am today, are expected to last until approximately 3pm.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, accompanied by several councillors, visited the site to assess and inspect the ongoing situation.

During this time, residents may experience low water pressure or a complete loss of water supply.

In response to the disruption, water tankers have been mobilised to provide temporary relief for affected residents and businesses in the impacted areas.
