Water projects provide a big relief for Samarahan residents – MPKS chairman

Dato Peter Minos

KUCHING, July 10: Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) chairman Datuk Peter Minos has welcomed the news of the treated water projects announced by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg yesterday as a big relief for the people living in Samarahan.

He opined that the people of the rural parts of Samarahan especially those living in Sebuyau, Sadong Jaya and Asajaya will be very happy as they will get to enjoy treated water in their living areas soon.

“This is big news to them and most welcomed. For years, the residents of rural Samarahan have been asking and wanting regular treated water.

“During dry seasons, the situation will get worse. So, the latest news is one big relief to them,” he said in a statement today.

Peter is delighted to know that there will be more developments going on in Samarahan areas especially with the serious traffic problem and the treated water issues which will be gradually sorted out.

He believed by 2022, many of the problems in the Samarahan areas will be solved then.

Going forward, he asserted that there will be infrastructure development such as the coastal road passing through from Sadong bridge to Samarahan bridge which will be implemented soon.

He gathered that there will also be secondary roads radiating from coastal roads connecting to other parts of the areas in Samarahan, thus opening up more areas for development and growth.

Peter is confident all those projects will bring more development while improving the lives of the locals.

As such, he is pleased that things are finally moving in the Samarahan area going forward.

He also expressed his appreciation to the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) state government for caring and looking after the needs of the people especially in the Samarahan areas . —DayakDaily
