Vyner’s granddaughter to visit Sarawak for the first time

KUCHING, July 31: The granddaughter of Rajah Vyner and Ranee Sylvia Brooke, Lady Roberta Simpson is arriving in the city for a visit tomorrow (Aug 1).

She will be accompanied by her husband Sir Kyffin Simpson and daughter Heidi Simpson.

They will be hosted by Roberta’s cousin Jason Brooke who is the director of the Brooke Trust.

A media release today revealed that this will be the 82-year-old’s first visit to Sarawak to fulfil her lifelong dream of visiting the land of her ancestors.

The family’s time in Sarawak will be packed with programmes including visits to the Astana, the Brooke Gallery at Fort Margherita, the Ranee Museum at the Old Court House, Sarawak Cultural Village and Bako National Park.

She will also participate in a number of cultural and educational related activities. — DayakDaily
