SIBU, April 26: The Sarawak for Sarawakians (S4S) movement suffered a blow when an active supporter Dzulfiqar Yeu@Yeu Bang Keng died early this morning.
In a Facebook post today, his wife, Norsharvina Mohd Misyam said Yeu who was known as Beng Kor breathed his last at 1.24am.
The cause of his death, she said was due to heart attack, adding her late husband had had his Covid-19 swab test and the result came back negative.
On behalf of her late husband, Norsharvina apologised to people whom he might have offended with his words and actions.
“I would like to say sorry if my husband ever been rough or tough to each one of you. Please forgive him if he had done bad things to everyone,” she appealed.
To others, she thanked them for being a good friend to her late husband.
“To all those who trusted him, who laughed and cried with him through the good and bad times. All the family members and all his friends you guys are the best among the best,” she wrote.
Beng Kor contested in the 2016 State Election for the Bawang Assan seat but lost by a large margin.
Members of the S4S movement had in 2015 collected 300,000 signatures statewide in its efforts to push for the restoration of the State’s full internal autonomy.
However the movement failed to achieve its objectives due to lacklustre support.
Meanwhile, tributes have started to pour in from well-wishers and close friends of Beng Kor.
A Facebook user with the profile ‘Awang Mahadil’ wrote on Norsharvina’s Facebook account.
“I am sorry to hear this.. your husband was a great man and brave in expressing his opinion which rarely people have nowadays. He did it for a greater good.
“Even though sometimes we argued on political things, but for me, he is and always be a beautiful man with perfect heart.
Be strong my friend.. al-fatihah. ”
Another user, Terence Gani wrote: “We are so sorry for your loss. May Allah give him an easy and pleasant journey and shower blessings on his grave. Al Fatihah.” — DayakDaily
