MIRI, July 16: Three more suspects aged between 15 and 17-years-old have been picked up by the police for their alleged involvement in beating and bullying a 13-year-old boy.
A video of the alleged bullying has gone viral on social media since Monday.
The incident purportedly took place in a vacant building somewhere in Miri on July 8.
With these arrests, a total of four suspects have been detained in connection with the incident. Earlier today, police detained the first suspect who is a secondary school student.
According to Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah, police are in the process of locating a fifth suspect.
On Monday, a video of the alleged bullying incident went viral on the social media, showing five attackers raining blows on and kicking the victim.
A police report was subsequently lodged by the victim’s mother.
The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting. ā DayakDaily
