Use MRP grants to benefit community, recipients told

MIRI, Dec 1: Recipients of minor rural projects (MRP) grants in Sibuti were reminded to make wise use the grants to benefit everyone under their associations or longhouses.

Member of Parliment for Sibuti Lukanisman Awang Sauni said they can use the MRP grants to build and upgrade infrastructures or funding association programme for members.


He gave this advice today at the MRP grant presentation to 17 grantees at PBB Sibuti Service Centre in Taman Tunku.

The MP was unable to attend the presentation as he was still in Kuala Lumpur for Parliament sitting, however, he managed to spend time to address the recipients via a video conference for 30 minutes before attending Parliment session.

Cr Abdullah Jaini presented on his behalf the MRP cheques totaling to RM166,700.00 to the 17 grantees.

Those who received the grants were Pusat Aktiviti Warga Emas (PAWE), SMK Taman Tunku, Persatuan Melanau, IPG Miri, Rumah Lani Bangeng Women’s Bureau, JKKK Rumah Jembu, JKKK Kampung Riam Jaya, Persatuan Jatti Meirik Miri, Kelab Kebajikan Pendidikan Khas SK Anchi, Kelab Sukan Olahraga FD Miri, Tadika Bandar Peranginan, JKKK Kampung Hulu Sungai Tangit, PIBG SRK Kelapa Sawit No.5, JKKK Rumah Lani Kuap Sibuti, SJK Chung Hua Lumut, Kelab Rekreasi Warga kerja JPJ Miri,SMK Subis for upgrading various projects at the school. — DayakDaily
