KUCHING, July 26: Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu campus (UPMKB) takes the road to visit some 100 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) leavers in a meet-potential-student session in Bintulu yesterday to promote its Diploma of Human Development.

UPMKB Faculty of Humanities, Management and Science dean Prof Dr Jayum Jawan has led the roadshow team to offer opportunities to study in their university with the new intake for the Diploma of Human Development set on the week beginning Aug 3, 2020.

“The programme is for SPM (Form 5) leavers who want to embark on their university education.

“The programme runs for six consecutive semesters, after which graduates may wish to continue into degree programme in various science based programmes.

“Some credits earned during the diploma programme may be transferred to Bachelor’s degree, thereby reducing by about a semester the duration of a degree programme,” said  Jayum in a press statement today.

The session was held at Sekolah Menengah Kerajaan (SMK) Bintulu in which Form 5 students from nearby schools such as SMK Bandar Bintulu and SMK Asyakirin also participated in the event.

Together with Jayum at the function was Associate Prof Dr Mohd Ibrani Shahrimin Adam Assim, a former graduate of the same diploma programme and currently a senior academic at UPM. —DayakDaily
