18 Mini Film Fest: Upin & Ipin original soundtrack composer among intl panelists for Unimas’ webinar

KUCHING, April 1: Sarawak-born talent Andrew Bong, composer behind the award-winning international film ‘Upin & Ipin: Keris Siamang Tunggal’ will be one of the panelists for Universiti Malaysia Sarawak’s (Unimas) online webinar next Friday (April 8).

The webinar titled “Creative Industry Workers in A Post-Pandemic Future: What’s Next?” will also feature three other experienced panelists in the art industry namely Sarah Lois Dorai, Tusa Montes, and Nisi Sturgis.

Sarah, a film director based in Kuala Lumpur, directed Alena Murang’s award-winning music video “Warrior Spirit” which was filmed under tight Covid-19 restrictions.

Tusa Montes, a musician from the Philippines, is a percussionist, ethnomusicologist and educator who attended the University of the Philippines College of Music in 2012, majoring in MM Musicology degree.

The final panelist, Nisi, is an American actress and director who has worked regionally at theatres including the Goodman in Seattle and Berkeley Rep, Chautauqua, Denver Center, the Old Globe, and HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.

These international panelists will be sharing their experiences and views concerning preparation for a resilient post-pandemic future through the webinar which is in conjunction with the 18th Mini Film Festival (MFF).

The online webinar will be broadcast live on MMF’s Facebook at 10am on the event day.
