KUCHING, July 1: Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas urges COVIDTrace and Qmunity apps operators to update their respective systems with immediate effect.

Relating his experience at a market recently, Uggah said he could not use the app because it was not updated by the operators.

“The COVIDTrace and Qmunity apps are very important mobile technology platforms to help Sarawak manage the Covid-19 crisis, facilitate contact tracing and break the chain of infections,” Uggah said at a press conference today.

He explained that the Qmunity app is for business premises to keep the data to manage and trace contacts in case of any Covid-19 infection while COVIDTrace is for tracing of imported Covid-19 case.

“These contact tracing apps are crucial for us to monitor the movements of people around Sarawak. If there is anyone who is infected, we can act immediately. That is why all operators must update the apps,” he said.—DayakDaily
