Sarawak to reopen schools as per Federal decision


KUCHING, July 1: Sarawak will follow the Federal Government’s decision in reopening schools in stages starting July 15.

Speaking at a press conference today, State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said, “We will follow federal government’s announcement and decision.

“I’ve personally visited a few schools and I can see that they are following the standard operating procedures (SOP) as per guided very well.”


Earlier today, Education Minister Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin announced the reopening dates to all government schools, government-aided schools, private schools, and educational institutions registered with the Education Ministry (MOE).

Students in Forms 1 to 4, Primaries 5 and 6, Remove Class, and Form 6 Semester 1 will return to school on July 15.

Primary 1 to 4 pupils will return on July 22.—DayakDaily
