KUCHING, March 30: The enduring spirit of unity and mutual respect among Sarawakians continues to be the hallmark of Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations in the State, says Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian in his festive video message posted on Facebook today.
Reflecting on his childhood memories of admiring the traditional ‘lampu-lampu’ Raya with his father in local villages, Dr Sim noted how the celebrations have evolved with modern LED lights replacing traditional oil lamps.
Yet, he stressed, what remains unchanged is Sarawak’s deep-rooted spirit of togetherness.
“As we come together again to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the whole of Sarawak shares in the joy with our Muslim friends as we always have — especially during the open house,” he said.
Dr Sim extended his well-wishes to all Anak-Anak Sarawak, expressing hope that the festivities will mark a continued journey of harmony, stability, and happiness across the State.
“May this Raya bring blessings to all Sarawakians in our collective efforts toward nation-building under the Post-Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, no matter where you are,” he added.
