Unimas Covid-19 vaccination center (PPV) became the first mega vaccination center to administer 5,000 vaccinations within one week.

KUCHING, June 19: The Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme (PICK) in Unimas turned into a mega vaccination center (PPV) after recording a total of 5,000 vaccine recipients, yesterday (June 18).

Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian said the Unimas PPV became the first mega vaccination center to record such a high number of vaccinations administered (on the fifth day) after being set up within a week.

“This is truly an extraordinary effort befitting the crisis that we face once in a 100 years, that we are called upon to act, and it is possible because of the awesome teamwork with passion, as well as the great leadership of Unimas vice chancellor Prof Datuk Dr Mohmad Kadim Suaidi,” said Sim in a Facebook post on Friday.

Sim, who is also State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) advisor, noted Unimas PPV started with administering 1,000 vaccines on the first day, followed by 3,000 vaccines on the third day.

He added on the fifth day, a total of 5,000 vaccines had been administered at 8pm. — DayakDaily
