Unemployed man remanded three days, suspected to own M16 bullets

KUCHING, Jan 7: The Magistrate’s Court here today allowed the police to remand an unemployed man who was suspected of possessing three M16 bullets.

The 33-year-old suspect from Tabuan Laru was brought before Magistrate Zaiton Anuar by Investigating Officer Inspector Adrian Sha Ali Rahman to apply for the remand to further investigate the case.


Magistrate Zaiton Anuar allowed the police to remand the suspect for three days, until Jan 10.

The suspect was arrested at Kuching International Airport (KIA)at about 10.45am, on Jan 6 while he was trying to take his flight from Kuching to Bintulu.

The scanner of the X-Ray machine at KIA found three bullets in his sling bag.

The case is being investigated under Section 8(a) of the Arms Act 1960.

The suspect is represented by counsel Gerald Donald and Steven Beti. — DayakDaily
