KUCHING, Dec 16: Magistrate’s Court here sentenced an unemployed man to the imprisonment of 10 months for stealing RM50 belonging to a mosque.
Kamarul Aswadi Abdul Manaf, 29, pleaded guilty to the charge framed here today.
Magistrate Zaiton Anuar accepted his plea of guilty and sentenced him to imprisonment of 10 months, from the date of arrest, October 31.
He was found stealing cash money of RM50 belong to Masjid Nurir Rahmani at Kampung Santubong, at about 12.15am on October 30, 2020.
He was charged under Section 380 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term that may extend to 10 years and liable to a fine for a second offence.
