Unconscious driver rescued from 3-metre deep drain in Matang

KUCHING, Oct 14: A 20-year-old man was found unconscious after the car he was driving fell into a 3-metre deep drain early this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call from members of the public at 1.22am about a self-accident at Jalan Matang Jaya.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the driver unconscious in a damaged vehicle which had fallen into the drain.


They successfully retrieved the unconscious driver through the back door of the vehicle before placing him on a stretcher and bringing him up to safety.

He was later handed over to medical personnel and taken to the Sarawak General Hospital for further action. — DayakDaily
