KUCHING, Sept 4: No unauthorised drones will be allowed at stopovers and visits during Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Aminah Iskandariah’s inaugural ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ road trip.
Sarawak Commissioner of Police Dato Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri said only authorised drones are permitted for security reasons.
“We also advise the public to always obey traffic rules and cooperate with officers on the ground, especially throughout the ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ trip to ensure the smooth movement and safety of the royal entourage,” he told a press conference at Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters here today.
He said throughout the ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ programme, PDRM Sarawak will be deploying a total of 1,879 police personnel consisting of 233 Senior Officers and 1,646 Junior Officers.
He also said that this is to ensure that the ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ programme runs smoothly in terms of security, VVIP escort and traffic control.
The King and Queen’s ‘Kembara Kenali Borneo’ in Sarawak will start on September 7 from Lawas and will end on September 13 in Telok Melano.
The royal entourage will also make a brief stop in Brunei for a private programme until September 9, before continuing to Miri through Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) at Sg Tujoh.
During the 1,198km-journey, the entourage will make stopovers and visits in Lawas, Miri, Bintulu, Tatau, Sibu, Sri Aman, Kuching and Lundu, as well as 12 other districts throughout the State. — DayakDaily
