Prior to the main event, the dignitaries toured the “Raja Kita” Exhibition, a special showcase highlighting the history and role of the Malay Rulers in Malaysia.

Held from June 12–15, the exhibition featured various side activities including free health screening, cooking contest, colouring competition, Limbang Talent 2025, Jejak Dirgahayu heritage walk, zumba session and more community-driven programmes.

The event served not only as a symbol of the people’s loyalty to the royal institution but also as a platform to strengthen unity and patriotic spirit among Sarawak’s multiracial communities.

The reception kicked off with a cultural performance titled “Harmoni Dirgahayu” to welcome the VIPs, followed by a special video presentation “Titipan Untuk Tuanku” as a tribute to His Majesty.

The highlight of the ceremony was the symbolic cutting of the pulut kuning (yellow glutinous rice) to mark the royal birthday celebration, before guests were invited to enjoy the banquet.

In a gesture of care towards the less fortunate, 100 welfare recipients were presented with RM100 each under various assistance schemes, including general aid, elderly support, allowances for OKU (persons with disabilities), foster children assistance, child aid, and caregiver support for bedridden patients and OKU.

The celebration also featured performances by local artists such as Miey Sanisya, Donny Lang, Siti Azliyani, and special guest Bob Yusof. Cultural dances, including the Rong Sia from the Lun Bawang community, Joget Tempurung representing Malay heritage, and the traditional Zapin Sarawak, added colour to the evening, showcasing Sarawak’s rich cultural diversity and harmony.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn who also served as the organising minister for the State-level celebration, members of the Sarawak Cabinet, Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki and his wife Datin Amar Baduyah Bujang, heads of departments, community leaders and more than 1,000 invited guests. — DayakDaily
