Uggah: Three mega bridge projects to be completed this year

BETONG, Jan 25: Three mega bridge projects in Sarawak are scheduled to be completed this year, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas revealed at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Betong Zone delegates’ conference today.

In his speech at the conference, he said, “I am proud to announce the status of the projects, namely the Batang Lupar No.1 Bridge, which is a 4.8-kilometre-long bridge that will be completed on Dec 31, 2025, the Sungai Lingga Bridge (Feb 11, 2025), and the Saribas Bridge (Package 02) which will be completed on May 18, 2025.”

He also took the opportunity to express his appreciation to the Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for his successful leadership under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), which has spearheaded the implementation of these mega bridge projects and the STOL-Port Bebuling in Betong.

For next year, Uggah said three more bridge projects currently underway are expected to be completed by 2026.

The projects are Batang Lupar Bridge No. 2 which is expected to be complete by June 8, 2026, Batang Saribas 2 (Package A4) with an expected completion by third quarter of 2026, and the Sungai Krian bridge in Seratok which should be completed by April 23, 2026. – DayakDaily
