KUCHING, Oct 8: Several roads in Kuching will be closed from today until Thursday (Oct 10) and on Saturday (Oct 12) in conjunction with the 78th birthday celebration of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at Padang Merdeka.
In a media statement issued yesterday (Oct 7), Kuching police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said a parade and grand gathering will be held on Oct 12.
“To ensure that the programme runs smoothly, the Royal Malaysian Police (PRDM) will implement road closures on the following dates, times, and locations,” he said.

“We hope that for the public’s full cooperation to not park their vehicles along the roadside and advise them to plan their journeys and use alternative routes to reduce traffic congestion,” he said.
