KUCHING, March 31: Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuan Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi attended ‘Majlis Sungkei Perdana’ at Astana Negeri here earlier tonight.
According to a report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the event was also attended by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang.
Others present included State leaders comprising various assemblymen, community leaders and village chiefs, and heads of departments.
The breaking-of-fast began with a light meal followed by mass prayer for Maghrib at the surau of Astana Negeri.
After the prayer, the guests were treated to a feast before the commencement of Isyak and Taraweeh prayer.
Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof; Sarawak Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar; Minister in the Premier’s Department Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai; Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi; and Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki were among those present. — DayakDaily
