KUCHING, Aug 14: The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, today attended Friday prayers at Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak.
According to a Facebook post, he was welcomed by the chief executive officer of the Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS), Datu Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul Kadir, together with mosque staff and officers from Astana Sarawak.
He then performed Friday prayers alongside Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg; Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUS) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar; Sarawak Mufti Datu Khalidi Ibrahim; Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Dato Husain; and permanent secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development Datu Abdullah bin Julaihi.
The Friday prayers were led by Sarawak Chief Imam Dato Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi, who also delivered a sermon titled ‘Integrity as the Foundation of Sarawak’s Prosperity’ (‘Integriti Teras Kemakmuran Sarawak’).
After the prayers, he took time to greet and meet the congregation before departing the mosque. — DayakDaily
