Two youths arrested in Bau, 0.47g of methamphetamine seized

KUCHING, Jan 18: Two local men, age 18 and 21-years-old, were arrested by the police in Bau for alleged possession of 0.46 gramme of methamphetamine, today.

According to Bau district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon in a press statement today, the arrests were made by a team of police from Bau Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) at a house in Kampung Skiat, at about 10am.

“Upon inspection, police found one transparent plastic packet with a plastic straw cutout inside it, containing a clear crystallised substance, believed to be methamphetamine with an estimated weight of 0.47 gramme.


“The item was found on the table at the location where the men were, and both individuals were arrested under the Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs act 1952,” he said.

Poge noted, initial urine tests on the two individuals shows that both of them were positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.

“Background checks also revealed that the two individuals have previous criminal records. If convicted of the offense, the suspects can be fined not more than RM100,000 or receive imprisonment not exceeding five years, or both,” he added. — DayakDaily
