BETONG, Feb 22: A 43-year-old man and two boys aged 14 and 15 were injured when the car they were travelling in collided with an oil palm fruit-laden lorry at Ulu Layar junction last night (Feb 21).
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) responded to the emergency at 9.19pm and swiftly mobilised a team of firefighters from Betong Station to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the three victims had been assisted out of the Perodua Kembara vehicle by passersby.
All the injured individuals were taken to Betong Hospital for medical treatment by paramedics.
The lorry driver was unharmed.
Firefighters conducted cleanup operations to clear debris and oil spillage at the accident site. The operation concluded at 10.23pm after thorough the cleanup and safety checks were completed. — DayakDaily
