KUCHING, June 19: Two suspects were arrested after drugs were allegedly found on them at Bau on Thursday, said Bau District Police chief, DSP Poge Nyaon.
“The first suspect was acting suspiciously at Bau town on Thursday afternoon and police who were patrolling around the area decide to go over and check him.
“A small transparent packet with 0.99 grams of drug was found in the left pocket of the suspect’s shirt,” he said in a statement.
He said the first suspect was later brought to the police station and was tested positive for the amphetamine and methamphetamine drugs.
According to him, the first suspect has no criminal records and will be remanded until today (June 19) for further investigation.
Poge said the second suspect was arrested at the same area on Thursday night when he was acting suspiciously at the area.
“Police later approached him and a small transparent packet with 0.28 grams of drugs was found inside his trousers’ pocket,” he said.
Poge said that the second suspect was also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
“Both suspects will be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he added. -DayakDaily
