SELANGAU, Aug 20: Two individuals sustained severe injuries in separate trailer truck accidents that occurred this morning and afternoon in Selangau.
The first accident was reported at 9.49am at Mile 40, Jalan Sungai Kua. Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Selangau immediately dispatched a team to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a single-vehicle accident involving a 34-year-old driver who had suffered serious injuries.
The victim had already been pulled from the vehicle by members of the public before rescuers arrived.
Firefighters provided initial stabilisation before handing the victim over to Ministry of Health paramedics, who transported him to hospital for further treatment.
In a separate incident at 12.14pm, Bomba Selangau responded to another trailer truck accident along Jalan Pan Borneo Sibu–Selangau.
The crash involved three victims, comprising a man, a woman, and a child. While the man and child suffered only minor injuries, the woman was reported to be seriously hurt.
None of the victims were trapped in the vehicle and had been assisted out by members of the public prior to the firefighters’ arrival.
All three victims were later transported to hospital in an ambulance provided by the Civil Defence Force (APM). — DayakDaily
