Two perished in vehicle collision with lorry at Pan Borneo Highway

MIRI, Jan 2: A fatal accident occurred at Kilometre 909 of the Pan Borneo Highway earlier on Monday (Dec 30) involving a Perodua Kancil and a lorry.

According to a TVS news report, Miri District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the driver of the Perodua was a 68-year-old man travelling from Bintulu to Miri who was believed to have lost control and crashed into the opposite lane.

“The car collided with a lorry driven by a 45-year-old man and as a result of the collision, both vehicles suffered severe damage to the front.

“The driver of the Perodua Kancil and a 61-year-old female passenger were confirmed dead at the scene and the lorry driver did not suffer any injuries,” he said in a statement today.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. –DayakDaily
