24yo motorcyclist killed in tragic pre-dawn crash on Pan Borneo Highway

MIRI, Feb 9: A routine ride turned fatal for a 24-year-old motorcyclist when he lost control of his bike and crashed into a road divider on Pan Borneo Highway in the early hours of yesterday (Feb 8).

Miri District Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said authorities were alerted to the accident at approximately 5.19am.

Initial investigations revealed that the victim was traveling from Bintulu when the tragedy struck.

Emergency responders arrived swiftly, but the impact had already claimed the young man’s life. His motorcycle was severely damaged at the scene.

Police have launched an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which deals with causing death by reckless or dangerous driving. – DayakDaily
