Two men injured in accident suspected to be intoxicated

MIRI, April 4: A motorcyclist and his pillion rider sustained bodily injury after the motorcycle they were riding rear-ended a car yesterday afternoon.

The crash took place adjacent to the Miri Fire Station around 4.33pm.


According to Civil Defence Force (APM) Miri officer Usman Harto in a statement, four of his personnel were despatched to the scene in response to an alert about the crash.

“witnesses said that the motorcycle rear-ended the car, and the two were hurled into the air,” he said.

Usman added, while his personnel attending to the injured rider and his pillion rider at the crash scene, both of the victims appeared to be intoxicated.

“Both men were rushed to Miri Hospital for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver of the car was unharmed in the crash. — DayakDaily
