Two men arrested for vehicle theft in Samariang

KUCHING, June 7: Two local men aged 23 and 29 have been arrested for their involvement in a vehicle theft case in Samariang.

According to the report, the police have also confiscated an Isuzu trooper car, an air gun, clothes, and vehicle theft equipment.

Preliminary investigation on the suspects has found that both had past arrests involving drug abuse and criminal offences in addition to being found positive for methamphetamine.

Both suspects were remanded for four days until June 10 in order to help the investigation in determining the suspects’ involvement in other criminal cases.

The case is being investigated under Section 347A of the Penal Code, which could result in a prison sentence ranging from one to seven years and may also include a fine.

The two suspects were convicted of vehicle theft in Bintawa, Kuching, on May 17, which resulted in a loss of RM5,000. — DayakDaily
